The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler forms a key role within the Maintenance Team, responsible for the effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities to ensure the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of plant and equipment on an Upper Tier COMAH site. This role is critical in supporting asset integrity, improving maintenance effectiveness, and ensuring that all work is planned and executed in accordance with COMAH regulations, site standards, and company procedures.

We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Planner & Scheduler who can take ownership of maintenance planning processes across a complex industrial environment. At CEUK, you will coordinate across multiple departments, ensuring maintenance activities are efficiently planned, resourced, and executed. With safety, compliance, and operational excellence at the core, you’ll play a key role in maintaining high standards across the site.

If you’re highly organised, technically capable, and proactive in solving problems, this position gives you the opportunity to drive real results.

Key Accountabilities & Duties:

* Develop high-quality maintenance job plans including scope, labour, materials, tools, and safety requirements.
* Build and maintain weekly, short-term, and long-term maintenance schedules aligned to operational demands.
* Coordinate maintenance activities between Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, H&SE, and external contractors.
* Ensure all planned work complies with safe systems of work, permits, and risk assessments.
* Support inspection, testing, and maintenance of safety-critical and statutory equipment.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, schedules, and history within CMMS / EAM systems.
* Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs, including schedule compliance and backlog health.
* Proactively identify planning risks, conflicts, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Facilitate planning meetings and agree access for maintenance with internal stakeholders.
* Ensure full compliance with H&SE legislation, company policies, and procedures, including reporting unsafe acts and conditions.

About you:

* You will have a strong commitment to Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.
* A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify potential issues early and coordinate effective solutions.
* A continuous improvement approach, always seeking efficiencies and enhanced ways of working.
* Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and structured approach.
* Confident working across teams and building effective working relationships.
* Comfortable working with a range of IT systems and maintenance management tools.
* A solid understanding of company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications/Experience:

* Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within a process industry or manufacturing environment.
* Demonstrable knowledge of maintenance activities on a large industrial site.
* Experience planning work on safety-critical plant and equipment.
* Strong working knowledge of CMMS / EAM systems.
* Good understanding of UK health, safety, and statutory maintenance requirements.
* Engineering or technical qualification (mechanical, electrical, or related discipline) desirable.
* Experience of outage, shutdown, or turnaround planning desirable.
* Knowledge of reliability and asset management principles desirable.
* Proven ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.

In return, we offer a competitive salary plus excellent benefits, including pension, healthcare, an employee assistance programme, as well as a range of flexible benefits including Cycle2Work and employee discounts.

If you have the necessary skills and experience for the position of Maintenance Planner & Scheduler, then we would love to hear from you. Please apply by submitting your CV.
