ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Technology Architecture & Product Development - Architects end-to-end solutions for emerging technology platforms including LaunchPad and BuildMe, defining technical strategy, user experience, and implementation approach that aligns with the broader Bench Studio vision - Leads product design and engineering for innovation tooling, translating complex emerging technology capabilities into intuitive, high-impact products that accelerate colleague productivity - Makes rapid technical architecture decisions leveraging creative-technical expertise to evaluate technology options, assess feasibility, and design solutions that deliver maximum value with lean implementation approaches - Leads the technical product lifecycle from concept through enterprise adoption, ensuring platforms evolve to meet changing organizational requirements while adhering to enterprise standards Innovation Strategy & Roadmap - Develops and maintains the technology roadmap for emerging technology adoption, identifying high-impact opportunities where generative AI and future-state tools can accelerate breakthrough innovation - Prioritizes the technical innovation portfolio based on strategic value and feasibility, working in partnership with Bench Studio leadership to balance near-term activation with experimental evaluation - Translates the rapidly evolving technology landscape into actionable technical recommendations, continuously scanning emerging capabilities and synthesizing insights to inform Studio investment decisions Technology Scouting & Evaluation - Leads the hands-on evaluation of emerging technologies through dedicated innovation scouts who explore external capabilities and experiment with frontier tools - Operates the engineering team as "customer zero" for new technologies, rapidly prototyping foundational solutions that validate technical feasibility and identify implementation challenges before broader adoption - Creates structured evaluation frameworks that assess emerging technologies against technical maturity, enterprise readiness, and organizational risk, ensuring disciplined decision-making Team Leadership & Development - Builds and coaches a lean, high-performing team of engineers and innovation scouts, maintaining a player-coach approach that combines hands-on technical involvement with talent development - Coaches engineers to maximize output and impact, helping team members develop solution architecture skills and the ability to rapidly prototype foundational solutions - Creates a culture of experimentation and rapid learning where the team moves quickly from discovery to prototyping to validated solutions Stakeholder Partnership & Enablement - Partners with Forward Impact Teams (FITs) to understand technology requirements, translating insights into foundational solutions and tooling - Collaborates with Bench Studio leadership and stakeholders across therapeutic areas to identify where emerging technologies can accelerate innovation - Ensures smooth technology activation by serving as the bridge between emerging capability evaluation and enterprise deployment BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Core Experience - Stong experience building and delivering digital products and technology platforms, with proven ability to architect solutions from concept through enterprise deployment - Demonstrated expertise in solution architecture combining creative, technical, and business thinking - Track record of leading product strategy and delivery in fast-paced environments where speed and adaptability drive results - Experience building and leading technical teams as a player-coach, maintaining hands-on involvement while developing team capabilities Technical & Innovation Capabilities - Hands-on technical background with ability to evaluate architectures, make rapid technical decisions, and prototype solutions (not purely managerial) - Applied AI implementation experience translating generative AI and LLM capabilities into practical enterprise products - Proven ability to rapidly evaluate emerging technologies and move from discovery to validated prototypes with minimal resources - Experience working across technology stacks and platforms with a bias toward pragmatic solutions Strategic & BusinessAcumen - Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and architect solutions quickly - Multi-industry perspective bringing external insights and implementation patterns into enterprise context - Strategic thinking that balances near-term execution with exploration of transformational capabilities Communication & Influence - Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences -
