Job Outline:
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with company policies. This role involves managing resources, optimising processes, and leading teams to achieve operational goals including sales, on time delivery and cost reduction.
Main Duties:
1. Production ManagementFull accountability for sales, on time delivery and costsPlan, organize, and supervise daily manufacturing operations to meet production schedules.Monitor workflow and adjust resources to ensure optimal output.Responsible for the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), injuries, safety, compliance, customer service and general goals, objectives, and long-term strategy of the Operational Area
2. Process OptimizationImplement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.Identify bottlenecks and develop solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.Improve and maintain the CI philosophy across the business, through tool deployment and employee engagement.
3. Quality AssuranceEnsure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with Quality Control teams to resolve issues and maintain product integrity.Manage and Monitor adherence to the quality best practices and be a champion for there maturity
4. Health & Safety ComplianceEnforce safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.Conduct regular audits and risk assessments.
5. Team LeadershipManage and develop production managers and team leaders.Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
6. Resource & Budget ManagementOversee inventory, materials, and equipment to minimize downtime.Prepare and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost control.
7. Reporting & AnalysisTrack KPIs such as production output, efficiency, scrap and sales.Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
Skills & Qualifications
8. Proven experience in manufacturing operations management.
9. Strong knowledge of production processes, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
10. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
11. Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning tools.
12. Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
