xF0B7; Ensure the central stores is compliant with Safety and Environmental rules and legislation
and that the operatives are fully trained and act at all times in a safe manner Ensuring safe
systems of work and risk assessment are regularly completed.
xF0B7; Develop and maintain good working relationships with the key internal and external
stakeholders to facilitate and develop cost saving strategies across all Mill departments
xF0B7; Provide stores cover for planned or unplanned machine shuts
xF0B7; Provide departmental cover as required.
xF0B7; Participate when required in training programmes as part of the annual appraisal process.
xF0B7; Attend and actively participate in team meetings.

Person Specification :
xF0B7; Highly motivated, analytical with excellent purchasing experience to include good
negotiating and communication skills.
xF0B7; Strong management skills to lead the small team and gain support from all departmental
managers for purchasing activities.
xF0B7; Experience of using SAP with a sound knowledge of MRP
xF0B7; Flexible and not work time orientated
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications
xF0B7; Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply at level 4 or above
xF0B7; Extensive experience in a supervisory purchasing role preferably within a manufacturing
or heavy engineering environment
xF0B7; Excellent SAP MM experience within a purchasing role and with excellent troubleshooting
mentality
xF0B7; Experienced negotiator with a proven track record of cost reduction initiatives.
xF0B7; Category Management experience is preferred but not essential
xF0B7; Ability to manage a tender process.
