What you need to know about the role
Working as the Rail & Section Mill Plant Engineer you will lead a multi-discipline team within a challenging but rewarding environment.
You will control, manage and direct site-engineering activities including management of equipment and people. Operational reliability and performance underpins the success of our business and ultimately you will be responsible for cost effective maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure the efficient operation in order to achieve the policies and objectives of the plant and the wider company.
What we need to know about you
You need to be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline and preferably a corporate member of an engineering institute. You will have experience of operating in a management role in engineering and maintenance management.
You must have the ability to optimise plant performance and the potential to effect improvement by using engineering control techniques, such as long-term planning, co-ordination of resources and engineering, and the development and implementation of major capital schemes.
A well-developed multi-discipline management capacity and an up-to-date knowledge of hot rolling techniques and modern maintenance philosophies and practices are essential.
