The Wet Fitter/Installer role supports public‑sector clients, including housing associations and local authorities, ensuring safe and efficient gas and plumbing systems.
Role Overview
As a Wet Fitter, you will carry out wet fitting jobs such as radiator swaps, pipe and gas runs, trace and repair work, and boiler flue replacements. A valid ACS qualification (CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1) is mandatory. You will work from the Lamplough 28 location on a full‑time basis.
Key Responsibilities
 * Complete day‑to‑day pipe/gas line runs, install radiators, and repair leaks on pipeworks.
 * Use S/Y plans and work with combi systems.
 * Move and replace boiler flues.
 * Trace and repair gas leaks under floors.
 * Diagnose and repair faults in gas systems and appliances, ensuring safety and functionality.
 * Risk‑assess work and environments before starting, following Health & Safety and the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.
 * Communicate effectively with residents, explaining work and minimizing disruption.
 * Deliver high levels of customer care, meeting quality standards.
 * Maintain accurate records: job sheets, reports, and compliance certificates.
 * Adhere to Health & Safety legislation, including Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, COSHH Records, and relevant GSIUR regulations.
Skills & Experience
 * Valid domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 (essential).
 * Valid UK driving licence.
 * Practical experience in gas system/plumbing installations and wet fitting.
 * Strong knowledge of gas safety regulations and industry standards.
 * Problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
 * Professional and friendly attitude, building relationships with clients and tenants.
 * Willingness to work out‑of‑hours/on‑call rota basis.
