Role Overview
The successful applicants will be jointly responsible for the overall management of the Village Hall and Sports Pavilion.
Key Responsibilities
* Office Management and administration
* Management of employees, contractors and volunteers
* Managing bookings and the diary of events for social and community activities
* Verbal and written communication with users and suppliers
* Reporting to the Village Hall Trustees
* Health, Safety and Hygiene
Desirable Skills and Responsibilities
* Financial Administration or accounting experience
* Customer facing skills matching capability of the venue to customer needs
* Marketing, promotions and event management
* Management of bar and catering facilities
* Valid driving licence with access to a car
Location and Reporting
The Managers will be located in the Village Hall, employed by Lavenham Community Council (LCC) and be directly responsible to the Chairman of the LCC.
Hours and Compensation
Hours work are 14 hours per week, normally 3.5 hours for 4 days (9:00 to 12:30) although there will be a need, on occasions, for work outside these hours.
Salary negotiable. Time spent working out of normal hours will be compensated by taking the hours in lieu as time off or reimbursed at a rate to be agreed by negotiation.
Holiday Entitlement
20 days (pro rata) per annum plus statutory holidays.
Candidate Profile
These positions are expected to appeal to someone who wishes to play a part in the life of the village and can relate easily to those involved in the many different clubs and organisations that use the Community Council’s resources. The candidate must be capable of enthusing the volunteers on which the Village Hall depends and willing to work flexibly. The successful applicant will draw on the skills and experience within the trustees as needed. The candidate may have the relevant experience in the past and will see this role as an opportunity to use this experience to benefit the village. This role will also require the individual to be self‑motivating and able to work unsupervised.
