Trust Education is looking for a Primary SEND Teaching Assistan t. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team at a lovely school in Barnsley. The role requires the person to work closely with a selected group of pupils with a range of special educational needs, offering an opportunity to make a positive impact in young peoples lives. You will be collaborating closely with teachers and support staff to help create a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment for pupils who may need extra support academically, emotionally or socially. SEND Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Good working knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum. Have experience of supporting quality learning experiences for pupils and delivering specific intervention small group work. Follow school policies and procedures with regards to safeguarding and behaviour. Work with children of mixed abilities including SEND. The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students. Showing initiative and asking for direction if needed. Providing 1:1 support, ensuring the childs needs are met in line with their individual learning plan, and following EHCPs. Assisting the class teacher in managing behaviour and keeping students engaged. Promoting inclusion and ensuring all students feel valued and supported. SEND Teaching Assistant Requirements: Relevant qualifications or teaching assistant experience in the classroom (e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in childcare). UK experience as a teaching assistant.
