Overview
Support the delivery of divisional IT Systems to support the Divisional Integrated Business Plan and Trust strategy. Support the development of systems to enable efficient communications internally and externally. Ensure any new system or upgrades to systems affecting divisional or Trust Business are tested thoroughly. Ensure a robust contingency plan is in place for continuity of Divisional systems. Ensure the functionality of divisional IT Systems is utilised to maximise benefits to users and support delivery of trust business objectives. Develop systems to improve operational and clinical processes to support divisional business objectives.
Responsibilities
* Deputise for the Divisional IT Manager in their absence.
* Provide advice and guidance on a complex range of facts and situations requiring analysis, interpretation, and comparison of options.
* Plan and organise a broad range of complex activities, formulate and adjust plans for the divisional IT systems environment.
* Oversee operational management of divisional systems.
* Collaborate and communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure on‑going development and support of divisional systems for clinical services.
* Oversee contract management and financial arrangements for divisional systems, ensuring probity at all times.
* Develop and maintain effective communication and positive working relationships within the Division and throughout the Trust.
* Establish effective communication links with external agencies, including GP practices, CCGs, community trusts and suppliers.
* Communicate complex information to a wide range of members of the divisional directorates and service users.
* Facilitate the optimal use of divisional solutions, requiring persuasion and negotiation.
* Discuss and correspond on technical issues of a highly complex nature with other IT professionals, including suppliers, engineers, members of the trust and Directors IM&T teams, primary care and other IT users.
* Work closely with other senior ICT managers within the Trust IM&T Department and across the Local Health economy and beyond to ensure delivery of the local and national IT agenda.
* Process map existing and proposed workflow changes, and communicate these to users.
* Communicate with operational staff in all divisions to ensure awareness of the current functionality of IT systems and the scope for IT to improve business processes.
* Ensure appropriate training plans and development programmes are available to staff to maximise benefits from the use of IT and keep own professional skills up to date.
* Maintain a degree of IM&T training and knowledge to communicate effectively with other IT professionals and carry out duties in line with industry standards and best practice.
* With the Divisional IT Manager, act as the joint Trust expert in divisional systems.
Qualifications and Experience
* Extensive knowledge and experience of NHS services, IT systems and related areas.
* Experience in using Microsoft Office packages and a range of specialist computer applications.
* Experience of contract and supplier management, including negotiation, review and performance management.
