Job Description
As a Sea Freight Forwarder at our company, you will report to the Sea & Ocean Freight Manager and be responsible for managing import and export freight operations in the Lichfield office.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage sea and ocean freight import and export bookings, including pricing, quotations, end‑to‑end shipping and customs documentation.
* Prepare and manage Documents of Operations and transportation (booking, Bills of Laden, pre‑advices, loading confirmations).
* Nominate carriers, hauliers and shipping lines in line with rates, OTIF value and customer requirements, covering a variety of INCOTerms.
* Raise additional customs documentation to ensure freight can move from country to country (ISF, COO, clearance documentation, etc.).
* Conduct customer rate analysis on route guidance, monitor allocations and operational efficiency.
* Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service, understanding clients’ business requirements.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years of experience in sea or ocean freight forwarding.
* Experience with pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across sea and ocean freight.
* Desirable experience in customs compliance.
* Excellent customer service experience.
* Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.
* Commutable to Lichfield, Staffordshire, and willing to work on a hybrid basis (3 days per week).
