The Role
To provide input and technical evaluation for all Product Development opportunities and proposals, providing technical support to the team where and when necessary.
To design, implement, and refine product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
To manage the team, identify training/development needs, carry out regular 1-2-1’s, appraisals, and assign tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
To lead the team in the development of new products, solutions, and processes.
To drive research and development in designs and products.
To provide clear and concise instructions to engineering teams, both internal and external.
To lead research and development projects that produce new designs, products, and processes.
To carry out resource planning and regular reviews on all Product Development projects with both internal and external resources.
To work in line with our core values and team-ship rules.
To always act with a consistent and serious attitude to Health and Safety matters.
The Candidate
A bachelor’s degree qualification (or equivalent) in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership or management role.
Thorough knowledge of electronic components.
Strong ‘hands-on’ experience in electronic development.
Experience with Microsoft packages including Excel and Word.
Proven ability to lead, develop, train, and manage a team of engineers.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrable experience in managing and delivering multiple technical projects on time.
Salary
The salary offered for this position is £47,000-£52,000 depending on whether a candidate can meet all key qualifications and abilities.
