Job Introduction
Landmarc Support Services are currently recruiting a Training Area Operative to join our team supporting the Royal Engineers training operations. In this role you will help to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train. We are looking for someone enthusiastic about working in an outdoor environment, dedicated to supporting the Military. Shifts run between: 08:00 - 16:30 from Monday to Thursday and 08:00 - 13:00 Friday, with the additional possibility of core hours working when required.
Hours of work: 37 per week

Location: Wyke Regis Training Camp, Weymouth, Dorset, DT4 9HH

Main Responsibilities
* Assist the Motor Transport section with vehicle and equipment tasks
* Drive, operate, clean, and maintain Mechanical Handling Equipment
* Perform pre-use checks and report faults using MOD's JAMES system
* Support visiting units with boat operations on the Fleet Lagoon
* Help the Unit's Workshop with planned maintenance workflows, including Life Jacket Maintenance
* Assist with stores preparation and stocktaking
* Carry out crane slinging operations
* Perform estate maintenance (painting, pressure washing, strimming, grass cutting, and basic DIY)
* Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on portable electric devices
* Be prepared to work at other LSS Sites (including Ranges) and attend training courses which may involve stays away from home
* Complete additional tasks as directed by your Team Leader or Manager
The Ideal Candidate
* Comfortable working outdoors and ready for hands-on work
* Strong communication skills
* Basic computer literacy
* Good understanding of Health & Safety, and safe systems of work
* Boat Handling
* Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
* RYA Level 2 boat operating certificate (preferred – training available)
Desirable Knowledge/Qualifications
* Cat C (Rigid) LGV Licence with no more than 3 points
* Crane Slinging Cert
* Strimming Operator Cert
* Ride on Mower Cert
* Life Jacket Maint Cert (MoD)
* Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Cert)
* RYA First Aid on Water Cert
* VHF Radio Licence
* In date Sea Survival Cert
