ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile projects involving structural alterations, demolition, steel frame installation, and groundworks. The successful candidate will play a vital role in cost management, procurement, contract administration, and commercial reporting to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation and management of cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for structural works projects
2. Measurement and valuation of variations and claims
3. Commercial management including tender preparation, procurement, and subcontractor negotiations
4. Contract administration and ensuring compliance with contract terms
5. Risk management and cost control throughout project lifecycles
6. Liaison with project managers, site teams, clients, and suppliers to support successful project delivery
7. Preparation of interim valuations, final accounts, and regular financial reporting
8. Supporting health, safety, quality, and sustainability initiatives in line with company standards
The ideal candidate will have the below skills:
9. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and commercial management principles
10. Ability to work effectively in complex urban environments with multiple stakeholders
11. Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
12. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
13. Proficiency in industry-standard software for measurement and reporting
REQUIREMENTS
Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., RICS accreditation) or equivalent
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the structural works or civil engineering sector.
Have experience working with a Main Contractor
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
This role pays up to £80,000 depending on experience + benefits
