Health Clinician - Joint Child Protection Response Program
Tamworth Community Health Service

This is a Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.


About the Role:

o Work as part of the Tamworth Joint Child Protection Response Program (JCPRP) Health Team for HNELHD in partnership with, NSW Police Child Abuse Unit (CAU) and Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) in undertaking a joint response to serious child protection matters.
o You will have access to immediate support and leadership from level 5 senior health clinicians; and obtain monthly clinical supervision and clinical review.


Where you'll be working:

o The Health response team sits within the Tamworth Child and Family Allied Health Team, Tamworth Community Health Service.
o You will receive high quality orientation to the role and receive professional development through NSW Health Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV).
o You will also receive clinical leadership from the HNELHD Violence Abuse and Neglect stream.
o Tamworth, with a population of 60,000 is a modern progressive city set in a picturesque backdrop of tree covered mountains.
o It is a family friendly city, offering a broad range of experiences from sport and lifestyle, art and culture, music and entertainment, cafes and restaurants and weekend adventures.
o Tamworth is located about halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, providing ease of access with 6 daily flights.

Requirements:

o Applicants must be female - under Section 31 (2) (h) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
o Tertiary qualification in Social Work, and registration or eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers OR tertiary qualification in Psychology and have general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia; OR tertiary qualification in a health discipline deemed appropriate by the employer.
o Eligibility to drive in NSW.

Information for Applicants:

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
