CMA Recruitment supports a client in Sherborne, Dorset, seeking a permanent Assistant Accountant to join their team. As a Finance Assistant, you will handle daily bookkeeping and assist with monthly management accounts and year-end processes across multiple group businesses.

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?
1. Performing daily bookkeeping tasks.
2. Supporting budget preparations and analyzing actuals versus budgets.
3. Assisting in the preparation of management accounts accurately and promptly.
4. Producing statutory accounts with supporting year-end documentation.
5. Managing quarterly forecasts and analyzing actuals.
6. Handling VAT returns.
7. Administering payment runs.
Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant position:
* Ideally working towards AAT qualification or equivalent.
* Experience with VAT and general tax calculations.
* Practice or estate management background is a plus but not essential.
* Flexible, eager to learn, and willing to take on additional responsibilities.
