CUPE 2331 Permanent Lunchtime Supervisor

Position Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the School Principal, the Lunchtime Supervisor will monitor the students during the lunch break while promoting a safe, caring, positive and friendly environment.
Major Responsibilities
* Supervise students indoors and outdoors and be aware of their whereabouts. Communicate any concerns to the School Principal.
* Monitor student behavior and promote positive interactions, encouraging respect, kindness, and inclusivity.
* Report incidents of misconduct to the Principal or designate.
* Encourage and support appropriate play, both indoors and outdoors. Be aware of any students attempting to leave the school premises or approaching areas that are out of bounds.
* Assist with emergency situations such as fire drills.
* Keep the teacher/principal informed of atypical situations.
* Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
Qualifications
Education:
* Less than high school graduation plus additional training or education.
Experience:
* A minimum of one month of experience is required.
Skills And Competencies:
* Good communication skills, positive demeanor.
* Ability to respect the confidentiality requirements of the school.
* Ability to monitor multiple activities.
* Experience working with children.
* Ability to attend to the physical needs of students.
The above position is posted in accordance with CUPE 2331 Collective Agreement Article 12.01. The salary will be as per placement on the Salary Grid of the current CUPE 2331 Collective Agreement.
