Dan Aldridge MP is looking to recruit a Constituency Support and Engagement Officer to join his busy Weston‑super‑Mare constituency office. The officer will play an important role in ensuring constituents and local organisations receive timely, professional support when contacting the office.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the smooth running of the MP’s inbox, ensuring correspondence is tagged and allocated correctly.
* Managing the constituency diary.
* Engaging with local organisations and businesses, arranging visits, communicating policy changes and promoting Dan’s work. This involves writing and sending letters; knowledge of Mail Merge is preferred.
* Leading the logistics for the MP’s coffee mornings and community events, including creating letters or leaflets to send to local residents.
* Attending constituency surgeries and resident meetings and assisting with follow‑up actions.
* Gathering relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
* Providing administrative support to the team.
* Managing competing priorities or juggling multiple projects at the same time.
* Occasional evening or weekend work will be required, for example to support constituency events or surgeries. Time off in lieu will be provided.
Qualifications & requirements
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Highly organised, approachable, and motivated by helping people resolve problems.
* Experience managing competing priorities or juggling multiple projects.
* Full‑time position (part‑time considered) offered on a permanent basis after a six‑month probation period.
* Flexible working will be considered.
* Understanding and sharing Dan’s core priorities and values of the Labour Party is desirable, but not a requirement.
