Are you passionate about improving the lives of disabled children and young people in Devon?
Our Disabled Children’s Service is looking for a dedicated Advanced Social Worker on a 6-month secondment with potential to extend to help deliver a wide range of statutory responsibilities in Exeter, supporting families who need additional help or specialist care to keep their children safe and thriving.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of change - empowering families, protecting children, and helping to shape brighter futures.
Working across the full spectrum of statutory services, including assessments, child in need, child protection, children in care, and transition to adulthood, you will provide consistent and holistic support throughout each child’s journey.
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and by partnering closely with health, education, care, and community agencies, you will be instrumental in developing joined-up plans that put children, young people and families at the centre.
This position is being offered as a secondment opportunity for 3 months, which has the potential of extension.
About You
Bringing sound judgement, compassion, and confidence you will use evidence-based tools to assess risk and develop strengths-based plans that support positive outcomes.
Advocating for children and young people in Devon, your skills and experience will include:
1. Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children’s social work
2. The ability to build effective professional relationships with children, families, and other professionals
3. Experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment
4. A social work qualification, registration with Social Work England and successful completion of your ASYE
5. A high-level of written and verbal communication skills
