Your new role
What you’ll do:
* Train and deploy the school’s caretaking staff to keep all areas clean, safe, and secure.
* Create an annual planned preventative maintenance program, including cost estimates, priorities, and oversee its implementation.
* Monitor plant and equipment for efficiency, including managing the school’s heating and ventilation systems.
* Engage subcontractors when necessary, addressing issues and recommending solutions.
* Supervise minor refurbishments, repairs, and replacements within contractual obligations.
* Maintain the school environment and perimeter free of graffiti and litter daily.
* Prepare risk assessments for caretaking duties and non-curricular activities, ensuring legal compliance and safety.
* Monitor contractor performance to ensure standards are met and liaise to address any shortfalls.
* Keep the school inventory updated, managing equipment, materials, and stock.
* Manage the site team, ensuring performance and relevant training needs are met.
* Ensure facilities operate in compliance with Health and Safety legislation, reporting incidents as needed.
What you’ll need:
Excellent communication skills, experience managing subcontractors, H&S compliance, pool management, and some maintenance skills. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. An Enhanced DBS Check is required before starting.
