Woodside Group - Charley Road Leicestershire
SEN PE Teacher (Non-Qualified)
Full time and Permanent, Term Time Only
£21,940 to £24,071 (actual salary)
To start as soon as possible
At Woodside, we specialise in educating young people with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team and work in our school with exceptional students and staff.
Your New Role:
We are seeking an unqualified teacher of SEN to deliver PE at our outdoor setting for students aged 11-19. The role is based in Leicestershire, near Loughborough, on a full-time, permanent basis.
We want someone passionate about helping develop children according to their academic and pastoral plans. The successful candidate will deliver small group sessions in a setting designed to foster a homely, nurturing environment, where building trusting relationships and providing emotional security are key.
Outdoor learning is central to our approach. The candidate must advocate for outdoor education, incorporating it into lessons and supporting students in processing information related to autism.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions is required.
Working Hours:
* Monday - Friday (08:30am-15:30pm)
* Term Time Only, 190 contact days
* 5 inset days
About The Woodside Group:
Our mission is to provide a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for children with ASC to thrive academically and vocationally. We support pupils aged 11-19, aiming for each to reach their full potential and transition to independent living.
We are a growing community with sites in Leicestershire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire, with plans for expansion. Our provisions have been rated OFSTED Outstanding, reflecting our commitment to quality education.
If you're inspired by this opportunity, we encourage visits and informal discussions. To apply, contact Mike Sherwin at 07525 889925 or via email. The closing date is as soon as possible, ideally by Tuesday, 6th May 2025. Early applications are encouraged as interviews may be scheduled sooner.
For safeguarding, please review our Safer Recruitment policy on our website. This role involves working closely with vulnerable young people, with full training provided. All appointments are subject to pre-employment checks, including references, DBS, and qualification verification.
