Kingstone High School is seeking a Pastoral Lead to join our team and support the pastoral needs of our students.

The successful applicant will be joining a friendly and supportive pastoral team of four, in a school that works tirelessly to produce confident, self-assured and successful young people. We do everything we can to ensure every single student gets the best possible start.

The successful applicant will:

1. have the ability to work flexibly and effectively both independently and as part of a team
2. be able to work within a multi-agency approach to ensure that all families, vulnerable children and young people receive the care and protection they require
3. ideally have up to date safeguarding knowledge and experience, working with the school safeguarding lead to implement actions related to safeguarding concerns, with the potential of acting as a deputy safeguarding lead with appropriate training
4. Ensure that all child protection plans are maintained and implemented
5. have experience of working with children / young people and families in overcoming barriers to engagement and learning.
6. have a professional and positive approach
7. have a focus on supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children
8. work closely with the Heads of Year to improve attendance of vulnerable pupils

Kingstone Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
