They are now seeking a Legal Cashier (Accounts Assistant) to join their team on a permanent and full time basis, based from their Preston offices.
Your new role
As a Legal Cashier, you will be a key member of the Finance Team, responsible for the accurate andpliant handling of client and office accounts. This role involves managing day‑to‑day banking activities, including electronic transfers, reconciliations and client‑to‑office transactions, while ensuring all financial records are accurate, up to date andpliant. Responsibilities include processing client and office transactions, allocating iing payments, managing petty cash, raising and posting invoices, and maintaining accurate ledgers in line with SRA Accounts Rules. The role also supports month‑end and year‑end processes, responds to finance queries professionally, and requires a high level of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail across all financial reporting and systems.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have experience working in an Accounts Assistant or Legal Cashier role previously. Excellent numeracy skills, high attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritise tasks to meet deadlines are essential.
You will be confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and able to work collaboratively within a team while providing cover when required. A reliable, organised and proactive approach to work is key. Knowledge of general accounting processes, experience with legal case management systems, and an interest in improving processes would be beneficial.
