Smoking Lobster is a family-run, Asian-fusion restaurant group. We aren’t just a restaurant; we are a destination celebrating the very best of the Isle of Wight - from our famous Catch of the Day (often caught by our own chefs!) to our signature Robata Grilled Meats and exciting cocktails.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate Sous Chef, with a desire to learn and care about the preparation of Asian-Fusion food.

* Assist the Head & Sous Chefs in every day service: Cooking and preparing the dishes from the menu that your section is reponsible for. Prep lists, ordering, stock control and rotation.
* Managing the team when the Head Chef & other Sous Chef is elsewhere
* Controlling wastage
* Own Your Section: Take accountability for your section, ensuring the highest standards of presentation and cleanliness.
* The Technical Side: Master our product specifications with passion
* One Team:Support your colleagues during peak times with energy and a "can-do" attitude.


What We Are Looking For

* Experience in a Sous Chef position is essential for this role, even if you are not experienced in Asian Cuisine
* Vibrant Personalities:Professional, fun, and cool under pressure.
* Attention to Detail:You notice the small things that make a big difference.
* Flexibility:You’re available for evenings and weekends, with a willingness to work across our beautiful Island venues.
* Commitment:This is a seasonal role with the potential for permanent hours for the right candidate.

* Competitive Pay + Tronc (Tips) equalling up to 40k per annum depending on perfomance: We operate a transparent, fair tronc system where all tips are shared across the team based on hours worked.
* Flexible Hours: Zero-hour contracts (part-time or full-time), with shifts ranging from 20-40 hours per week during peak season.
