The UK Government has established UK Industrial Fusion Solutions (UKIFS) Ltd, a subsidiary of UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), to lead the delivery of fusion energy through the design and construction of the Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) prototype fusion plant. UKIFS is setting up the company, attracting talent, engaging with industry, developing a supply chain, and planning the STEP prototype.
Fusion energy is crucial for combating climate change and achieving energy independence, with commercial viability expected by mid-century. UKIFS aims for a prototype fusion plant with first operations around 2040, leading delivery in collaboration with industrial partners and developing a global fusion supply chain valued at approximately £7tn annually. Salary: £32,577. Employees can be based at West Burton, Nottinghamshire, or Culham, Oxfordshire, with onsite work expected 3 days per week.

Job Description
The Role
The Technical Coordination Team supports UKIFS work packages and projects within the STEP Programme. The role requires a self-driven individual capable of thriving in a technical environment, modeling UKIFS values, and managing multiple complex projects. The role includes advising project managers, leading engineers, and project teams on document management processes and SharePoint deployment, as well as supporting project activities and milestones.
Accountabilities
Document Management and Control
* Manage SharePoint sites, including creation, architecture, and permissions
* Support document management processes, including training and user support
* Assist with uploading, formatting, attribute mapping, workflow tracking, and distribution of documents
Workshop and Meeting Support
* Support technical workshops and meetings, including minute-taking and follow-up
* Arrange meeting logistics and prepare materials
Project Management Support
* Act as point of contact for project queries
* Track KPIs and milestones
* Chair project meetings and support change management
Technical Writing
* Assist with developing and editing technical documents and procedures
Qualifications
Essential:
* Qualifications or experience in a STEM field (HNC/Degree)
* Experience supporting complex technical projects
* Expertise in SharePoint deployment and configuration
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access
* Strong technical report writing and organizational skills
Beneficial:
* Knowledge of Quality Management systems
