The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Project Manager from an automotive or similar engineering environment — someone who can hit the ground running and take full ownership of complex vehicle development projects.
You’ll be responsible for 2–3 major projects at any one time, coordinating delivery across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, software, and homologation teams. The business currently has around 7–8 major projects in play, so this role demands strong structure, communication, and leadership under pressure.
This is an end-to-end delivery role — from initial planning through to validation and production — in a company known for its high-quality, mid-volume engineered products.
Key Responsibilities
Lead multiple automotive engineering projects from concept to delivery, ensuring performance to time, cost, and quality.
Define scope, budgets, and timelines using tools like MS Project, JIRA, SharePoint, and Excel.
Drive stakeholder alignment across engineering, production, and software functions.
Manage supplier and customer interfaces to maintain delivery schedules and compliance.
Oversee release of engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications.
Support build readiness, prototype testing, and product validation activities.
Maintain risk registers, budget controls, and milestone tracking for reporting to senior management.
Contribute to process improvements across project and change management practices.
About You
Proven Project Manager with 5–10+ years’ experience in automotive or aerospace (vehicle development environment preferred).
Track record of successfully delivering at least 5 full vehicle or major subsystem projects.
Deep understanding of vehicle development processes and product validation.
Strong communicator with experience leading cross-functional teams within a matrix structure.
Confident managing multiple concurrent projects in a medium-sized, fast-paced engineering business.
Skilled in Microsoft Project, Office, Teams, SharePoint; exposure to ERP/MRP systems beneficial.
PRINCE2 or formal project management qualification desirable but not essential.
Proactive, influential, and able to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
Willing to travel occasionally within the UK and overseas.
Why Join
Join a collaborative and values-driven engineering business working on innovative automotive projects.
High visibility and autonomy — real opportunity to shape delivery processes.
Flexible hybrid working (or full onsite with time in lieu).
Inclusive employer committed to diversity, development, and work-life balance
