A key opportunity has opened for a Supplier Quality Engineer to take control of supplier performance and prevent issues before they reach production. This role is all about taking ownership, challenging suppliers, and ensuring the components we depend on arrive exactly as expected, on time, on quality, and with zero disruption. The Supplier Quality Engineer will:
Own supplier quality performance across assigned suppliers and commodities, ensuring issues are prevented before they reach production.
Act as the primary escalation point for supplier‑related defects, delivery risks, or quality concerns impacting manufacturing or customer delivery.
Lead supplier containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa).
Conduct supplier audits and on-site investigations across process, product, and system levels.
Drive APQP, PPAP, First Article Inspection, and change‑control activities for robust part introduction.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and Manufacturing to resolve issues quickly and maintain delivery continuity.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will have:
Background in automotive, electronics, electro-mechanical, industrial, or similar engineered product environments.
Ability to interpret and analyse supplier KPIs (PPM, NCRs, OTD, COPQ).
Persistent, action‑oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple supplier issues simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
Comfortable travelling to supplier sites when required.
Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills.
