We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and motivated Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Dartford, starting ASAP. As a Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum, ensuring pupils are well-prepared for the transition into Key Stage 2. You will support pupils’ academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing, while promoting independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum
* Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress effectively
* Prepare pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN and EAL
* Promote positive behaviour and high expectations
* Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
* Work closely with teaching assistants and KS1 colleagues
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
* Contribute to staff meetings, planning sessions, and school initiatives
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
* Have recent experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 2
* Be organised, enthusiastic, and reflective in practice
* Have strong classroom management and planning skills
* Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
