Information Governance Support Officer

Location: Council Offices, LE67 3FJ

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 2+ Months

Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Pay rate: £ 18.50 per hour

Responsibilities

Support the implementation and management of information governance frameworks and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies, particularly in the context of financial data.

Assist in the processing of Freedom of Information requests and ensure timely and accurate responses.

Collaborate with various departments within the council to promote best practices in information management and data protection.

Maintain and update records to ensure data integrity and security, adhering to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with information governance standards.

Provide training and guidance to staff on information governance policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in Information Management and Freedom of Information.

Understanding of the role of Local Government and the environment in which it operates.

Possess strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.

Proficient in networking, negotiation, and influencing, with ambassadorial skills to effectively represent the council.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards.
