We are seeking an HCPC Registered Healthcare Scientist/Biomedical to develop their knowledge, skills, and expertise in Laboratory Immunology. The post holder will work as part of the team providing a clinical diagnostic service in Laboratory Immunology and will be expected to train and supervise trainee Healthcare Scientists and other staff as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality, efficient, and effective clinical diagnostic testing throughout all laboratory sections.
* Develop knowledge of and expertise in a wide range of Immunology diagnostic assays.
* Work as part of the team providing a clinical diagnostic service in Laboratory Immunology to the Trust, General Practice, and other UK and overseas Trusts and laboratories.
* Take part in any shift work to cover the lab working hours 8am-7pm as required.
* Take part in any weekend work where necessary as required.
Requirements:
* Holds or is actively working towards Health and Care Professions Council Registration as a Healthcare Scientist.
* IBMS accredited Biomedical Science B.Sc. or equivalent knowledge as assessed by the HCPC.
* Laboratory experience and knowledge of the basic techniques within Laboratory Immunology.
Desirable Criteria:
* Previous recent working experience in an NHS Diagnostic Laboratory, preferably Immunology.
* Fast and accurate keyboard skills.
* Demonstrated practical analytical skills associated with diagnostic lab work.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
