Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The candidate should be an experienced commercial lawyer with a focus on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice on a global scale.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide legal support on various legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal matters.
Help ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and within network policies.
Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal guidance.
Develop and implement governance policies, procedures, and playbooks.
Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance and legal/regulatory issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
Balance practical advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
Make presentations and publish articles on legal topics.
Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
UK qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
Strong legal skills with the ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
Strategic risk management skills with the ability to identify issues and suggest mitigation strategies.
Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements; advising on laws across multiple jurisdictions.
Ability to work independently and manage complex cases, collaborating with business teams.
Ability to balance legal risks with business needs in a fast-growing global environment.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
