We are looking for a proactive and organised site-based Group Buyer to join our Purchasing team. Reporting to the Group Purchasing Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring we source the right materials, equipment, and services to support our operations and projects across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the main purchasing contact for engineering and operational teams.
* Manage purchase requisitions and ensure timely, accurate ordering.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, monitoring quality, cost, and delivery performance.
* Prepare RFQs and tender documents, supporting cost analysis and supplier selection.
* Drive cost‑reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for improved sourcing and standardisation.
* Evaluate costs, quality, and suitability of suppliers, materials, and equipment; select and support the development of suitable vendors.
* Maintain compliance with procurement policies and promote safe working practices.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Minimum 3 years’ procurement experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier‑management skills.
* Logistics and compliance (manufacturing environment) is desirable.
* High level of numerical accuracy and analytical ability.
* CIPS qualification (or studying toward it) is desirable.
