Key Responsibilities
Assist the Technical Manager in maintaining product safety, legality, authenticity, and quality standards. Support the review of documentation to ensure compliance with the BRC Global Standard for Agents and Brokers.
Prepare, review, and approve product and packaging specifications on Foods Connected and customer portals within project deadlines, ensuring full compliance with legal and customer requirements.
Review and approve artwork using internal checklists, confirming alignment with product specifications and legal regulations.
Proactively obtain samples and packaging materials (labels, cases, etc.) from first production runs, conduct thorough inspections, complete relevant inspection forms accurately, and communicate results promptly to the Project Manager and key stakeholders, including the MD, Commercial, and technical teams.
Support New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) by conducting comprehensive product and packaging analyses, preparing detailed reports, and communicating findings to relevant stakeholders.
Complete customer questionnaires and related documentation accurately and within required deadlines.
Manage the product complaint and nonconformance process by logging issues, coordinating supplier investigations, and communicating resolutions to suppliers and customers within agreed timelines. Ensure all sections of the Complaint & Nonconformance log are fully completed and closed on time.
Collect quarterly analysis reports (microbiological, physical, and chemical) from all suppliers and file them accurately in the respective supplier folders.
Maintain and update the Document Check Portal on Foods Connected, ensuring supplier documentation (e.g., BRC/IFS certificates, audit reports, SMETA/BSCI reports, claims reports, and other compliance records) is current and complete. Conduct quarterly reviews to confirm all documentation remains accurate and up to date.
Qualifications
 * Degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
 * Knowledge of food safety and quality standards, including BRC Global Standards, HACCP, and relevant EU/UK food regulations.
 * Experience in product specification, packaging compliance, and documentation management.
Skills and Competencies
 * Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
 * Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
 * Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 * Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and experience with Foods Connected or similar specification systems.
 * Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers.
 * Proactive and self-motivated with a strong commitment to food safety and quality.
