The Production Shift Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing a close-knit team of manufacturing personnel through out the shift, ensuring full compliance with the company and external standards, all the while ensuring and efficient production run. The job you will do: Supervise all manufacturing activities, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency across lines. Monitor and manage shift KPIs, including output, downtime, waste, and labour usage. Ensure all production schedules are completed on time and to the highest quality and safety standards. Support and maintain strict compliance with HACCP, BRCGS, health & safety, and hygiene procedures. Support and oversee scrape-down and clean-down activities, working closely with the Hygiene Coordinator and Hygiene team to ensure standards are met efficiently. Communicate shift performance, challenges, and solutions clearly during handovers. Work closely with Engineering to support planned and unplanned maintenance activities, minimising downtime and ensuring safe, efficient production. Lead and contribute to continuous improvement projects focusing on waste reduction, line efficiency, and process control. Directly supervise Production Operatives and Line Technicians on shift, ensuring standards, performance, and behaviours align with company expectations. Develop a high-performing team culture with clear expectations and positive reinforcement. Actively promote inclusion, respect, and well-being among all staff. Handle team management duties such as resource planning, holiday approval, absence management, and performance conversations. Escalate disciplinary and grievance matters appropriately, support and participate in investigations as required, and act in line with company procedures. Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members. Conduct return-to-work discussions following absence in line with company procedures and record outcomes appropriately. About you: Proven experience in production supervision, must have experience working within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of manufacturing operations, including planning, OEE, quality systems, and Health & Safety and compliance standards. Understand and deliver against agreed run rates, production targets, and KPIs, taking corrective action where performance is at risk. Confident communicator and people leader with the ability to influence, coach, and support others. High attention to detail, excellent organisation, and a calm, solutions-focused mindset. Comfortable working in a dynamic, multicultural environment and promoting an inclusive culture. IT literacy (e.g. Excel, production systems) and the ability to maintain and analyse reports.
