Finance Manager Location: Burton-upon-Trent (DE14 3DP) Salary: Up to £65,000 DOE Hours: 40 hours per week Our client, a well-established and growing multi-functional business based in Burton-upon-Trent, is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Finance Manager to report directly to the Managing Director. This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, dynamic organisation operating across multiple revenue streams including leisure, hospitality, and membership services. This role offers genuine scope for development and progression as the business continues through a sustained period of growth. The Role You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance function. You will lead and develop a small, established finance team while ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and strong commercial insight across the business. You will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making by delivering timely and accurate management information, forecasts and budgets, while influencing cost control and revenue performance across all operational areas. Key Responsibilities * Lead the overall accounting and financial management of the business * Prepare monthly management accounts and board packs * Produce weekly KPI reports * Prepare and review annual budgets and monthly forecasts * Support and liaise with the Managing Director and Heads of Department to meet strategic objectives * Represent Finance at regular management meetings * Oversee and verify all financial transactions * Manage monthly payroll and supplier payment runs * Ensure strong accounting and operational controls are maintained * Monitor and improve operational costs, profitability and business risk management * Streamline financial processes and procedures to drive efficiency * Lead, develop and appraise the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement * Provide financial training and support to non-finance managers where required * Undertake additional responsibilities as required by the business About You The successful candidate will be ambitious, commercially astute and confident operating both autonomously and as part of a senior management team. You will have: * ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ post-qualified experience * Proven experience managing the finance function within a multi-departmental or multi-revenue stream business * Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting business decision-making * Experience within hospitality, leisure, or membership-based organisations (highly desirable) * Excellent IT skills, particularly advanced Excel and accounting software (Sage 50 advantageous) * Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills * Experience producing MI, forecasts and budgets * Excellent communication, leadership and delegation skills * The ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities What’s on Offer * Salary up to £65,000 DOE * Employee benefits and access to the business’ facilities * Opportunity to work closely with senior leadership * Autonomy and influence within a growing organisation * Supportive and collaborative team culture This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager looking for a fresh challenge in a commercially focused and evolving business.
