Description
Windsor catering is offering a full time position of 37.5 hours per week.
To prepare, assemble, and pack sandwiches, rolls wraps and other ready made food according to company recipes and customer orders, ensuring high standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of Ingredients:
* Slice, grate, or portion vegetables according to production plans.
* Label and date prepared ingredients, ensuring First In First Out (FIFO) rotation.
* Ensure allergen controls and cross-contamination procedures are followed.
* Sandwich Assembly:
* Assemble sandwiches, roll and wraps to exact portion sizes, recipes, and presentation standards.
* Ensure bread and fillings are fresh and handled with care.
* Adjust assembly methods for different sandwich types (wraps, baguettes, paninis, etc.).
* Packing and Labelling:
* Pack products into appropriate packaging and seal correctly.
* Apply correct labels (ingredients, allergens, use-by dates) to products.
* Box and prepare products for dispatch while maintaining traceability.
* Cleaning and Hygiene:
* Maintain a clean and organised workstation at all times.
* Perform cleaning tasks as per daily, weekly, and deep-cleaning schedules.
* Adhere to handwashing procedures, PPE use, and hairnet policies.
* Health & Safety:
* Follow company health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices.
* Report hazards or equipment faults immediately to a supervisor.
* Adhere to safe knife handling and cleaning procedures.
* Quality Control:
* Check ingredients for freshness and report any quality concerns.
* Complete production records and checks (temperature, waste, cleaning logs) accurately and promptly.
* Inform supervisors of any production issues that could affect quality or safety.
* Teamwork & Flexibility:
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines.
* Support other areas of production when required (e.g., salads, boxed meals).
* Assist with stock checks and inventory rotation when required.
* Continuous Improvement:
* Participate in training to improve skills and food safety awareness.
* Suggest improvements for production efficiency, safety, or quality.
Key Skills & Requirements:
* Previous experience in a food production environment (preferred but not essential).
* Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines precisely.
* Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene beneficial).
* Able to work in chilled environments (typically 4–8°C).
* Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
* Reliable, punctual, and a good team player.
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
* Attention to detail to ensure correct ingredients and allergens are used.
* Good communication skills to report issues or follow instructions.
Hours:
* 6:00 am – 2:00/4:00pm (Sunday to Thursday)
* Shift pattern varies based on business demands.
* Overtime may be available during peak periods.
* Flexibility to cover occasional weekend shifts if required.
