Summary

We have a great opportunity for a Hire Controller to join our team at our Stowmarket office. This role will be part of a wider team.

We are seeking someone comfortable in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail to manage a busy workload.

This role is office-based five days a week within the Plant Hire team.

Key responsibilities include:

* Handling internal orders for plant, from small equipment like drills to long-term arrangements including accommodation and welfare.
* Managing orders, invoicing, and coordinating with suppliers.
* Managing daily plant and equipment hire requirements for operational teams.
* Overseeing traffic management requirements.
* Proactively addressing equipment breakdowns.
* Building professional relationships with internal customers.
* Maintaining the Hire Desk diary.
* Liaising with the supply chain to generate quotes and confirm bookings.
* Developing knowledge of depot equipment for hire/sale, including accessories, safety, and test & run requirements.

Qualifications and skills we're looking for:

Experience in administration or coordination support, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.). Full training provided for other systems.

* Strong organizational skills
* Excellent literacy and communication skills
* Attention to detail with administrative experience
* Knowledge of construction plant hire (desirable)
* Willingness to learn and develop
* Positive attitude and team player
