Cranleigh STEM is working with a leading FMCG business that specialises in developing flavours and fragrances. They are looking to strengthen their quality team with a QA Lab Technician.
Your key responsibilities will consist of:
* Carrying out production analysis and quality control of raw materials samples and tasting and smelling samples of finished products.
* Carrying out sensory testing procedures, conducting sensory analysis, and accurate recording.
* Detecting any quality sensory issues to direct the sensory assessment panel.
Location: Winchester (Must have your own transport)
Additional Responsibilities:
* Routine testing of samples submitted to QC.
* Reviewing the requirements of each sample & leading thedaily sensory assessment panel for routine quality control ofraw materials and finished products and productdevelopment samples.
* Prepare samples for assessment by the sensory panelensuring products are representative and tasted at the mostappropriate dilution to determine any issues.
* Maintaining the retained samples ensuring that samples areavailable for review when required.
* Identify opportunities to continuously improve theprocesses and testing parameters for sensory testing ofmaterials.
* Collate the sensory panel results for reporting and identifyingissues.
Skills & Requirements:
* Some experience in the food industry, ideally in a quality function, would be highly advantageous.
* A degree or proven experience in a similar role.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) and Adobe.
* Good organisational skills & attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
