Ysgol Dyffryn Taf is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, adaptable and inspiring Teacher of Geography to join our dedicated team of professionals. This is an opportunity to join the school at an exciting stage in its development, as we continue to embed the Curriculum for Wales and respond to evolving developments in 14–16 and post-16 qualifications.

We are seeking a professional who is creative, reflective and prepared to be flexible in responding to the changing and emerging needs of pupils within the education sector. The successful applicant will be someone who recognises that education continues to evolve and who is willing to support the school in meeting new challenges with confidence and professionalism.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued development of Geography within the Humanities Area of Learning and Experience and to play an active role in shaping rich, authentic learning experiences for our pupils.

Geography at Dyffryn Taf plays a vital role in helping pupils understand their cynefin, their place within Wales, and their connection to the wider world. The successful candidate will foster curiosity about physical and human environments, sustainability, global interdependence and the challenges facing modern societies.

Safeguarding Statement

Dyffryn Taf fully recognises the contribution it makes to Child Protection and was commended for its policies,support and interventions in a recent county-wide "Safeguarding Health Check". There are 3 main elements to the School's Policy:- 1. Education and Pastoral support is offered to pupils to enable them to keep themselves safe and prevent abuse. 2. Procedures are in place for identifying and reporting cases, or suspected cases, of abuse. Because of our day-to-day contact with children, school staff are well placed to observe the outward signs of abuse. 3. Supporting pupils who may have been abused. A door entry system has been put in place as part of the School's Safeguarding Procedures to keep the School a safe community. All visitors need to make their way to the Main Entrance of the School where they will be able to enter the building after speaking to Reception via the Intercom.
