Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home (Solo Placement)
Full-Time | 2 on / 4 off rota | £70 per sleep-in | Alternate weekends | Occasional 9–5 cover
We are seeking a skilled and resilient Deputy Manager to help lead a childrens residential home supporting one young person with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). This is a demanding yet highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's life by creating a safe, stable and nurturing home environment.
You'll work alongside an experienced Registered Manager, helping to deliver consistent, therapeutic care and ensuring the home operates to the highest standards.
The Role:
* Work a 2 on / 4 off shift pattern with alternate weekends
* Sleep-ins are paid at £70 per night
* Provide management cover on occasional weekdays 9–5 shifts
* Help run the home day-to-day, maintaining compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding legislation
* Be a positive role model and key support figure for the young person
* Lead shifts and guide the team in delivering trauma-informed and person-centred care
* Create and review care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies
* Maintain accurate records and professional communication with external agencies
* Build strong partnerships with social workers, therapists and education providers
* Step up to oversee the home when the Registered Manager is away
About You
* Experienced in supporting children or young people with EBD, ideally within a residential setting
* Confident in leading or supervising a small team
* Knowledgeable about safeguarding, trauma, attachment, and behaviour management
* Skilled in communication, de-escalation and remaining calm under pressure
* Qualified to Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Working towards or keen to work towards Level 5 in Leadership & Management
* Flexible to work the required rota, including sleep-ins and occasional daytime cover
