Electrofishing Technician (Temporary Contract) Location: Llandarcy Start Date: 5th May 2026 Pay Rate: £15.59 per hour Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week Assignment Length: Temporary until October 2026 We are currently recruiting for a Field Technician to support an environmental monitoring project in West Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for the outdoors and environmental science to gain hands on field experience. Working as part of a small team of three, including a Senior Officer, you will be carrying out electrofishing surveys in rivers and streams to assess fish populations and overall river health. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct electrofishing surveys in rivers and streams • Safely catch fish using nets and assist with population sampling • Record accurate data including fish measurements and environmental readings • Support water quality testing and ecological monitoring • Assist with data entry and reporting • Travel to various sites across West Wales About You: • Degree in Marine Biology, Zoology or a related field is desirable • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions • Confident working in rivers and water environments (typically knee depth) • Strong attention to detail when recording data • Full UK driving licence is essential due to travel requirements • Confident swimmer Training will be provided, including water safety training.
