Role Overview
Duty Manager (SPAR) Worthing (18+)
Shift hours: 7:00 am – 10:00 pm, fully flexible Monday‑Sunday
Position: 20 hours per week
Hourly rate: £13.25 p/h + bonus opportunity
Key Responsibilities
 * Support the Store Manager to ensure a safe, legal and high‑performing store during Duty Manager shifts
 * Assist the Store Manager to deliver all store operations, objectives and KPI’s
 * Manage, coach and support colleagues, fostering a motivated and empowered team
 * Carry out performance management/absence management as appropriate
 * Occasional opening/closing of the store, colleague safety and stock/cash security/accountability during shifts
 * Perform cash reconciliations, voids and refunds for till colleagues
 * Lead the team to provide an exceptional customer experience, setting the store apart from competitors
 * Promote the store by engaging with and supporting the local community of Worthing
 * Adhere to all company policies, procedures and processes
Duty Manager Skills Required
 * Previous management or supervisor experience within a food retail or similar fast‑paced operation
 * Commitment to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards
 * Strong planning, organising and prioritising skills
 * Excellent communication and influence skills at all levels
 * Decisive action‑taking and decision‑making abilities
 * Collaborative working mindset
 * Enthusiastic and flexible with a positive attitude
