We are working with Kettering General Hospital to recruit an Advanced Pharmacist to join their Pharmacy team in a unique split role across Women’s & Children’s services and Education & Training.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine advanced clinical practice with leadership in education and workforce development, supporting both patient care and the future pharmacy workforce.
About the Role
This dual role offers the opportunity to work across both clinical services and education leadership.
Clinical (Women’s & Children’s):
* Deliver an advanced clinical pharmacy service across paediatrics and women’s health
* Provide expert pharmaceutical advice within multidisciplinary teams
* Support medicines optimisation, governance, and safety initiatives
* Contribute to guidelines, PGDs, and service development
* Undertake or work towards independent prescribing
Education & Training:
* Lead the organisation and delivery of trainee pharmacist training programmes
* Act as a Designated Supervisor and support trainee and undergraduate placements
* Deliver medicines management training to pharmacy staff, doctors, and nurses
* Work with regional and national partners to ensure training aligns with GPhC and NHSE standards
You will play a key role in shaping both clinical services and pharmacy education strategy within the Trust.
Essential Requirements
* MPharm (or equivalent)
* GPhC registration
* Minimum 4 years’ post-registration hospital experience
* Strong clinical experience across acute/ward-based settings
* Experience in teaching, training, or supervision
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Desirable
* Postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification (Diploma/MSc)
* Independent Prescriber qualification
* Experience in Women’s & Children’s services
* Experience acting as a Designated Supervisor
* Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
* Experience in service development and leadership
