Spectrum Children’s Services (part of the Rehability UK Group) are looking for a committed Senior Youth Independence Mentor / Senior Youth Support Worker to join our Supported Accommodation team. You’ll not only support young people aged 16–18 to gain independence skills but also take on leadership responsibilities—mentoring colleagues, leading shifts, and ensuring high standards of care and compliance.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting young people in developing life skills: cooking, budgeting, cleaning, travel, and managing appointments.

Encouraging engagement in education, training, or employment opportunities.
*
Acting as a positive role model, helping young people set and achieve personal goals.
*
Promoting social inclusion, resilience, and community participation.
*
Safeguarding young people, managing risks, and following Ofsted regulations.
*
Recording accurate case notes, support plans, and outcomes on Clear Care Solutions.
*
Leading shifts and mentoring Youth Independence Mentors to deliver high-quality support.
*
Assisting the Service Manager with audits, monitoring, and inspections.
*
Acting as a senior on-call/point of contact when required.
What we’re looking for:
Experience supporting children or young people (residential, supported accommodation, or social care).
Strong understanding of safeguarding and challenges faced by vulnerable young people.
Ability to role-model and teach independence skills.
Strong IT and recording skills (Clear Care or similar systems).
Communication, empathy, and leadership ability.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Desirable: NVQ/QCF Level 3, experience leading shifts/supervising staff, safeguarding or mentoring training, full UK driving licence.
