Deputy Group Financial Controller – Shape the Future of Finance at MONY Group

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll lead and support a wide range of responsibilities, including:
* Reporting & Analysis
* Deliver high-quality external financial statements, investor presentations and subsidiary accounts.
* Manage the audit process and build strong relationships with external auditors.
* Produce monthly management accounts with insightful commentary and forward-looking analysis.
* Controls & Compliance
* Design and operate a robust internal control framework in line with the UK Corporate Governance Code.
* Maintain and test the Group’s finance risk and control matrix.
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly with a focus on automation and improvement.
* Tax & Treasury
* Oversee tax compliance and VAT returns, working closely with external advisers and HMRC.
* Prepare weekly cashflow forecasts and manage day-to-day treasury operations.
* Support strategic transactions with cashflow modelling and funding oversight.
* Leadership & Development
* Coach and develop a team of 7, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Create tailored development plans and ensure strong succession planning.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who’s not just technically strong, but also a great leader and communicator. You’ll thrive here if you’re:
* A qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with significant experience in group reporting (experience in a listed environment is a plus).
* Passionate about process improvement, with a sharp eye for detail and a drive to get things right first time.
* Experienced in team leadership, with a track record of coaching and developing people.
* Confident in technical accounting, IFRS, UK GAAP, Corporation Tax and VAT.
* Able to influence senior stakeholders, communicate complex issues clearly, and lead change with energy and empathy.
