The post holder will lead operational delivery teams of 250-300 staff through supporting managers. They will ensure high-quality, efficient service delivery, compliance with technical and quality standards, and effective operational processes. This role directly impacts road safety outcomes and involves developing business improvements, managing performance, and talent development. The post involves liaising with the Policy & Service Heads, providing operational insights, and ensuring standards are maintained.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing leadership, influence, and guidance to support objectives, maintaining integrity and upholding the reputation of the Agency and Civil Service.
2. Leading vehicle testing operations across regional networks, ensuring consistent, high-quality service.
3. Ensuring operational standards, quality expectations, and service levels are met.
4. Facilitating effective communication and engagement with staff and management.
5. Developing operational plans to deliver value-for-money services.
6. Driving improvements based on QA and audits, promoting best practices.
7. Collaborating on strategic business planning with the Performance & Delivery Manager.
8. Acting as a liaison for specific services, providing operational expertise on legislation and improvements.
9. Coordinating with internal departments to meet customer needs and communicating these requirements effectively.
