We are a well-established, friendly, single-site small animal practice in Cambridge. We are looking for a veterinary surgeon to join our team, offering a fulfilling and inspiring role with a collaborative work culture.
What we offer
* Full-time position: four 10-hour days
* Mixture of consults and surgery, with a share in the weekend rota (Saturday morning consultations)
* Inpatient care responsibilities over the weekend; an hour lunch break; consults finish 30 minutes before the end of the day

Practice and facilities
Medium-sized, single-site small animal practice with three consulting rooms, dedicated prep area, separate cat and dog wards, isolation unit, theatre, imaging suite, and a fully equipped internal laboratory. Diagnostic tools include X-ray (main beam and dental), endoscopes, video otoscope, VetPump, ultrasound, cryopen, K-laser, Doppler, multiparameter monitor, and more. We also have a dedicated puppy paddock and school to support early socialisation and training.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a balanced caseload of consulting and surgical procedures, including routine dentistry and medicine/surgery managed to a high standard in-house
* Collaborate with local referral centres for more complex cases
* Contribute to a team-focused environment with regular clinical meetings, case discussions, and M&M reviews
* Support patient care across the practice and participate in weekend inpatient coverage as agreed
Team and culture
Join a close-knit team of seven veterinarians, eight RVNs, and nine support staff. The nursing team leads prevention, nutrition, senior pet support, and wellness clinics. The practice benefits from ongoing professional development and guest expert input (e.g., visiting ophthalmology professor).
