Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at our Shaftesbury office. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills, with a keen understanding of legal skills and procedures and be keen to provide excellent client care. Previous experience in either conveyancing or private client work will be essential.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive administrative support to fee earners including managing calendars and scheduling appointments.
* Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents and effectively use case management systems and other software.
* Maintain an organised filing system for both electronic and paper documents to ensure easy retrieval of information.
* Assist in the preparation of case files and ensure all documentation is compliant with legal standards.
* Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties to facilitate smooth operations within the office.
* Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work standards.
Experience
* Proven administrative experience in either conveyancing or private client work is required.
* Proficiency in IT, document production use of case management required.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for effective interaction with clients and team members.
* Excellent typing skills with a high degree of accuracy are required.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential for daily tasks.
* Strong IT skills to navigate various software applications effectively.
* Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritising workload efficiently.
* Effective time management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
