Overview
Community Support Worker x2 at London Borough of Redbridge – full time, permanent. Typical daily hours 10am‑3pm, though times may vary. Location: Ilford, only 9 minutes from Stratford and 18 minutes from Liverpool Street.
Responsibilities
* Specialise in working with people with dementia, physical and sensory disabilities, learning disabilities and mental health.
* Develop community‑based programmes of provision based on community care assessments, person‑centred plans and risk assessments.
* Consult with service users, carers and families to create person‑centred support plans that promote independence, health and wellbeing outcomes, community outcomes and personal empowerment.
* Assist, develop, implement and monitor social, recreational, therapeutic and educational activities designed to meet service users’ needs.
* Undertake escorting or driving duties; transport service users to and from home and for activities or outings (driving licence an advantage).
* Assist service users who use wheelchairs and other aids to move safely around the day centre and to get on and off vehicles.
Qualifications
* Proof of right to work in the UK – all short‑listed applicants will need to demonstrate this.
* Driving licence is an advantage.
