What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a well-qualified, highly motivated and reflective Careers Adviser to strengthen our Careers provision, providing a first class service to our students at Harrogate High School. You will be able to demonstrate up-to-date careers knowledge and have an awareness of current educational developments. You will be a confident practitioner who has a strong rapport with students of all abilities. You will be adept in creating a supportive, encouraging and safe learning environment for students of all diverse backgrounds.
You will work 08:30 – 3:30pm (up to 41 days in an academic year including results day in August and Year 10 and Year 11 parents evenings).
As a careers adviser, you will be involved in exciting and rewarding activities such as:
* Individualised planning and delivery of advice and guidance, knowing when and how to differentiate appropriately using approaches that enable students to engage confidently.
* Help young people draw up action plans for employment, education and training and support them to achieve these goals, including a high standard of planning and delivery of the programme while supporting individual needs.
* Participate in the completion and monitoring of students and be accountable for students’ attainment, progress and outcomes within your area of expertise.
* Liaise and negotiate with employers, colleges, universities and training providers to provide the best opportunities for our students.
