Service Engineer - Ansul & Fire Extinguisher
Field Based – covering West London postcodes.
Full Time – £DOE + Overtime + On Call and Call out.
Job Purpose
* Carry out servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems.
* Ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date.
* Adhere to the company Health and Safety policy.
* Ensure compliance with the GFS management system as it applies to this position.
Key Accountabilities
* Carry out fire extinguisher and Ansul fire suppression system servicing and remedials at various sites such as restaurants and hotels.
* Provide a good level of customer service and a professional manner at all times.
* Arrange own diary and book appointments with clients.
* Complete paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
* Take part in the on‑call rota alongside colleagues.
* Ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety.
* Monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment and record inspection reports.
* Keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work.
* Have working knowledge of statutory regulations and be aware of all safety procedures.
About You
* Demonstrable experience of servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems.
* Qualifications to service fire extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems in accordance with British Standards.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices.
* Strong customer care focus.
* Proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Able to work at heights of up to 3 metres and lift weights of up to 25 kg.
Training Provided
Experience of Ansul R102 systems is a plus, but we also provide training for those who have the right aptitude and transferable skills. We consider experience with other suppression or sprinkler systems, or relevant industry experience such as BT/Sky installations, as transferable.
